Privacy policy

WorkMap is run by Dalyn Butler (“we”). This policy explains what the WorkMap iOS app and workmap.da1yn.com collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account. Sign in with Apple gives us a stable user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email (or Apple’s private relay address). You add a display name and, optionally, a phone number, bio, trades, service radius and profile photos.
- Jobs. The photos, title, description, price, timing and location of each job you post. The exact location is stored so the pro you accept can find you; everyone else sees a bubble about half a mile wide, shifted from the true point.
- Location. With your permission, your device location while you use the app, to centre the map, measure distance to jobs and (for pros) decide which jobs to ping you about. We never collect location in the background.
- Messages and offers. What you send in chat (text and photos) and the offers you make or receive.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to WorkMap Pro, Apple sends us a signed receipt with the product and expiry. We never see your payment details.
- Device. A push-notification token if you allow notifications, and basic logs (IP address, timestamps) for security and rate limiting.
How we use it
To run the service: show jobs on the map, ping pros, rank and deliver offers, open chats, send notifications, verify subscriptions, enforce the community guidelines, and respond to reports. We do not sell data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your data for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps.
Who sees what
- Your display name, photo, bio, trades, ratings and portfolio are visible to other WorkMap users.
- Your exact job address and phone number are shared only with the pro whose offer you accept (and, for pros, only with the owner of a job you were accepted for).
- Photos are stored with Cloudflare R2 (object storage) and served through unguessable links. Photos are checked by an automated classifier (Google Gemini) for nudity and violence before they are stored; the classifier sees the image only for that check.
- Push notifications go through Apple’s APNs.
- We share data when the law requires it, or to investigate abuse or safety issues.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account from Profile → Settings → Delete account. That removes your profile, sessions and device tokens, cancels and hides your open jobs, withdraws your open offers and replaces your messages in other people’s chats with “[deleted]”. Reports you filed and aggregate statistics are kept. Photos are removed from storage within 30 days.
Children
WorkMap is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Your rights
You can see and edit your profile in the app, export your data or ask questions by emailing dalynbutler@gmail.com. If you are in a region with specific privacy rights (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), those rights apply and we will honour them.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes are announced in the app.
